Fishing on The Costa Blanca with Let’s Fish Spain

So..  Here you are on holiday on the Costa Blanca and you fancy a day trip doing a spot of fishing. How do things work in general on a day trip with Let’s Fish Spain?

We will collect you in a 4×4 vehicle and take you to the waters edge so you can relax and not worry about driving yourself. We take individual anglers and up to parties of six people. We supply everything to make your day as enjoyable as possible. All licences and insurances are provided as is high quality bait, tackle and equipment. We can also provide a packed lunch as an extra service. We might even buy you a cool beer on the way back home!!

You traditional types can head off at the crack of dawn and be fishing as the sun comes up, or you may fancy leaving mid afternoon and fishing into the evening as the sun goes down. Both have pluses and minuses. Going early means you see the best part of the day. As the sun gets up I feel that the heat can make the fish a little lethargic and in that can’t be bothered to feed mood. Going in the evening means you get a lie in, and I think the fishing is better as it cools down. The scenery and views as the sun sets behind the mountain are quite breathtaking.

In general we fish for about 5-6 hours depending on conditions. The most successful method is funnily enough” The Method” but if anybody fancies trying something else, then we have the tackle, and knowledge, to cover any situation.

Conditions start to improve about late April and peak during June, July and August. It will then fall away mid September.

If we fish local about 30 mins from the Torrevieja area, on an average trip you would expect about 30 to 50 runs, from carp and barbel in the 1-4 lbs range.  If we travel towards benidorm we catch about the same number of fish but they range from 3-20lbs. The downside to the Benidorm trip is the extra costs to cover fuel, membership, and special licences, but the fish are bigger. But as we all know fishing is fishing and nothing is guaranteed.

There is also river fishing in the Costa Blanca region on the river Segura. This is quite a narrow and shallow water flowing at a slow to medium pace. Just to wander along with minimum gear and try a few different swims is in my opinion the best kind of fishing. To hit and hold carp up to 8 lbs on light gear is brilliant. All you need is a sense of adventure and a loaf of bread!!

We also offer trips further afield to hunt specimen fish.  This involves overnight stops usually a minimum of 2 nights and 3 days.

If trout fishing in beautiful mountain rivers is your thing then look no further. We can do it in a long day, or leave about 4,00pm and return 24 hours later. The scenery is to die for and the fishing is second to none.

Whatever you want to do we at “Let’s Fish Spain” can cater for your needs and hopefully make your fishing experience on The Costa Blanca a memorable one.
